Copyright-Free or Copyright-Friendly Photos and Movies for Education
You don't have to have a digital camera in order to use digital photography in the classroom. You can find many wonderful photos on the web that are both free and copyright free. Part of teaching the ISTE NETS for Students is teaching the ethical and legal use of technology and resources.

Search for NASA Multimedia
Find digital images and movies. Remember that all images from .gov sites are free for education to use.

Search through their large collection of photos.

Smithsonian Image Collection

Film Clips Online
"Short Scenes from Major Motion Pictures for Use as Teaching Resources." Includes some study guides.

WingClips.com
This site provides inspirational clips from movies that could be used in sermons. It has some free clips and rotates what is available by the month, I believe. For a monthly fee you can have access to all of the clips.

Stock Photos (free or low cost)
Sometimes you may not be able to find the kind of free photos that you need online, so consider purchasing some stock photos.

Digital Photos Online

These photos may be copyright free, but you always need to check to be sure. These search utilities scour the web to find images, and they may find some that you would not want your students to see! To be safe, have your students use collections that are safe for education.

Smithsonian Photographic Services
There are some screen images that are free to use, and you can also purchase themed photo CDs.
