My dissertation research examined six of the seven courses (the winner and five honorable mentions) of the Paul Allen Virtual Education Foundation Outstanding Online Course Award competition.

 Purpose

The purpose of my study is to determine instructional practices in exemplary higher education web-based courses and their perceived effectiveness.

  • How do faculty craft and deliver online courses to create an active learning environment?
  • What are the implications of new delivery models for higher education?
