Welcome!

This web site has been developed to support my conference presentation: "Integrating Technology into K-8 Math." The goal is to explore guiding principles, sample programs and resources, and exemplary practices of using technology in K-8 math to promote learning and success for students.

Technology should not be the focus of the learning but should rather enhance learning. Students should learn to use technology the way that scientists and mathematicians do: as tools.

The links in the navigation bar at the bottom of each page go to general K-8 Math resources. Some are general resources on lesson plans, instructional strategies, and so on. Having all these resources will make it easier to develop your own lesson plans that integrate technology into math.

Here are some resources for the gentleman who asked about how to use an abacus. There was not a simple answer because there are many different styles so the rules of use vary.

I don't pretend to have all the answers or resources, so if you have something that should be added to this site, please let me know. I hope that these resources will help!

Cheers,
Marilyn
